Steps to Getting Licensed in Minnesota
Licensed into Real Estate
I became licensed in real estate in 2006. The driving force was to own my own business, and as a realtor, I was able to run my business my way; I had my branding, marketing, budgeting, processes, systems, etc. Based on my past experience in the auto and motorsports industry, I dove in head first. Little did I know what the future would bring in the next year.
Pre-Licensing Courses: Three Courses (30 Hours Each)
Courses can be taken in person, online or hybrid. It is recommended to take an exam prep course to better prepare you for the State & National Residential Real Estate Sales Person exams. Exams should be taken after Course 1 and exam prep for maximum retention, but is not required. *There is a higher pass rate for people who attend Class 1 IN Person!* We recommend any of the following companies:

Time to take the State and National Exams!
Schedule an appointment to take both the State and National Exams at a proctored site. You must pass both exams to submit a license application with the Minnesota Department of Commerce. The brokerage you choose will complete the application. Exams cost $78 and License Application is $120 (this is included in your Onboarding Fee with ROGC).

Coaching and Mentoring
You should know it is imperative to have someone help you wile you are learning the business. Make sure you have a mentor along the way and someone there to answer questions and help you learn the business. Make sure the office you choose offers classes and support.
